Opinion: Agenda-Driven Propagandists Are Back, Along With Their Collaborators

Image
The Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP), along with their collaborators, the Financial Times (FT), is back with their not-so-hidden agenda, targeting India's homegrown business conglomerate, the Adani Group, one of the largest in the world. All in the name of investigative journalism! Quite shameful, I must say. Their old and recycled contention is that in January 2014, the Adani Group imported low-grade coal from Indonesia and passed it off to the Tamil Nadu government-owned Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Company as high-grade coal to make windfall gains. It's pertinent to note what the Financial Times has written in its news report, which clearly reveals their motive. It says: "The latest revelations come as Adani seeks to rebrand itself into a big renewable energy player, including by building one of the world's largest wind and solar parks in Khavda, near the Pakistan border."  Whose interests are they trying to serve, especi...

"Non-Recovery Of Cash Can't Be...": High Court In Manish Sisodia Hearing

Non-recovery of cash cannot be a prima facie proof that no corruption has taken place as the offender's mind uses new technology to commit offences without leaving behind any trace, the Delhi High Court has held while denying bail to AAP leader Manish Sisodia in the excise policy scam cases. The high court said it cannot accept the argument put forth by Mr Sisodia about the non-recovery of cash from him in view of the statements of some hawala dealers and other witnesses recorded during the investigation. Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma dismissed the bail pleas filed by the former Delhi deputy chief minister in the corruption and money laundering cases lodged by the CBI and ED, respectively, in connection with the alleged liquor scam. While the two petitions were dismissed on Tuesday, the detailed order was uploaded on the high court's website on Wednesday. “This court is of the view that the prosecution has made out a prima facie case of commission of money laundering under S...
